The Birmingham Athletic Club has a capacity of 360 active members each year. Historically, there is a waiting list by July of each year. Once families visit the BAC, they are eager to learn more about becoming a member.
The Birmingham Athletic Club is in full-swing, year round. With so many family and individual activities planned throughout the year, your social calendar will be full of exciting things for you and your family to see and do. Whether you are participating in one of our popular indoor our outdoor racquet sports such as tennis, squash or paddle, or watching world-ranked squash players at the BAC-hosted Motor City Open, the BAC is always buzzing with activity inside and outside. Our pool is one of our most popular areas in the summer. We start kids off on our BAC Sharks swim team from the time they can make it safely half a length across the pool. We also offer private swim lessons, designated lap lanes, and a toddler pool, so the younger ones can enjoy a safe swim with their buddies.
Are you into a great workout? The BAC has it’s own fitness facility where you can uses free-weights, a variety of fitness bands and balls and state-of-the-art equipment. Or, if you need a little motivation, take a class with a certified personal trainer or sign up for a group training session. Our fitness experts also take advantage of the summer weather and host group sessions on our beautiful and private grounds. We also have a massage therapist on staff to help relieve any aches and pains from all the activity you’ll be doing here.
If you think things wind down for the winter, they don’t. That’s when we heat up the paddle courts for the adults, and convert our tennis court to an ice skating rink for some winter fun for the kids, where they can warm up with a cup of hot chocolate and hang out in the game room afterwards. Every day and year round we’re creating interesting, fun, and healthy programming that engages our members and families, and keeps them coming back for decades.
